Welcome to The Talent Code
Why MORE writing?
I’ve always believed that writing is more than just a skill—it’s a cornerstone of reflection, learning, and leadership. It’s a common belief among military officers, but I’m among the crowd that likes to do that reflection in public forum across various digital platforms to generate discussion and feedback — LinkedIn, my website, my book, and now right here on The Talent Code!
This space will be where I dive deeper into how organizations, industries, and people are evolving—and how we can make smarter, more strategic decisions about talent in an era shaped by AI, data, and rapid transformation - and explore a lot of other interesting topics in the people space.
Why "The Talent Code"?
Because unlocking potential—whether in individuals, organizations, or entire workforces—is both an art and a science.
There’s no single formula for developing, managing, and leading people, but there are patterns, frameworks, and strategies that work. The Talent Code is about exploring that intersection—where data meets decision-making, where strategy meets execution, and where technology meets human insight.
This is what I do. I work at the forefront of talent management, workforce transformation, and AI-driven decision-making—helping organizations navigate change and unlock the full potential of their people.
What to Expect from This Newsletter
Every week, I’ll be diving into the topics that are shaping the future of work, including:
Industry & Government Trends – What’s happening across sectors that will impact talent, leadership, and workforce strategy.
Talent & Workforce Strategy – How organizations can build, manage, and optimize their workforces for the future.
Technology & AI in Talent – The evolving role of AI, automation, and digital tools in workforce transformation.
Data-Driven Decision-Making – How to apply data, analytics, and assessment tools to make smarter talent choices.
Leadership & Development – Insights on leading teams, navigating change, and building high-performance cultures.
What I’m Watching – The latest shifts in HR, talent innovation, and workforce dynamics.
This will be a mix of deep dives, insights, and reflections—always grounded in real-world experience, strategic thinking, and practical takeaways from twelve years of experience (three at INDOPACOM, nine in the Pentagon) researching, working, and being curious at the intersection of data and talent!
And one more thing…why listen to me?

I’ve spent the last twelve years of my career at the intersection of talent, technology, and strategy, leading initiatives that shape how organizations attract, develop, and retain their people. I bring a data-driven approach to workforce transformation, but I never lose sight of the fact that people—not just processes—drive success.
As a senior leader in the U.S. Army, I’ve worked extensively on talent management, assessment, workforce innovation, and AI-driven decision-making in one of the world’s largest and most complex organizations. I’ve led efforts to modernize how we evaluate talent, integrate emerging technologies, and adapt to an evolving workforce.
Beyond the military, I’m passionate about HR tech, leadership development, and the future of work across industries. Whether it’s shaping policy, building better hiring strategies, or exploring the impact of AI on workforce planning, I focus on real-world solutions that bridge data, strategy, and human potential.
I’m also very passionate about supporting my family - my husband, young son, goofy dog, and cranky cat - and providing support to other military families. When I’m not nerding out about new tech and ways to use it to help people, you can find me running, cooking, and listening to my son talk about Dog-Man.
